Flying Tiger Investments is a trading education business in Austin, Texas, run by Stephen Brent Jenkins. The mission is straightforward: make institutional-grade trading knowledge accessible to anyone willing to put in the work.
THE MISSION
No dollar amount should keep you from knowing how to trade.
Trading education is overrun with pay-to-play barriers. Five-figure courses. Locked communities. Twitter influencers selling signals to people who don't know what a candlestick is. None of it teaches the actual work.
Flying Tiger Investments exists because the people who taught me to trade didn't hold the knowledge hostage. They showed me a path, and I walked it. Now I'm here to show that same path to anyone willing to walk it themselves.
STEPHEN BRENT JENKINS
Seven years trading. Two years teaching.
Stephen has been trading for seven years, self-sufficient for the last four. The path didn't start there. Before trading, he was a CEO in tech, film, and gaming — often all three at once. He's structured high-value intellectual property deals as a managing partner, run an IT security business, and operated the kind of family pub that becomes a neighborhood institution.
What that taught him: running a business is about decisions under uncertainty. Whether it's a feature in a game, an IP deal, or a position in the market, the discipline is the same. Information, then judgment, then commitment, then review. Trading is just that loop with money on the line.
The mentors who introduced him to trading didn't gatekeep. They taught the actual work — the structures, the language, the discipline. Stephen started teaching others two years ago because that knowledge shouldn't only flow to people who can afford a $5,000 course or know somebody who knows somebody.
He learns and researches every day. The markets change, the rules change, the technology changes. Embracing that change is the work.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Three things most trading educators won't tell you.

Trading is learnable. It is not magic.
There's no secret indicator. No proprietary system. No insider knowledge that retail can't access. What separates traders who survive from people who blow up accounts is methodology, discipline, and time — not access. We teach the methodology. The discipline and the time are on you.

You will lose money learning to trade.
Every trader who's ever been good at this lost money first. I blew up accounts in my first years and learned more from those losses than any winning streak. If you're not willing to lose money learning, you're not actually willing to learn. The point is to lose money cheaply, learn the lesson, and get back up. That part isn't optional.

The barriers in trading education are mostly artificial.
Most paid courses recycle public information behind a paywall and call it proprietary. We don't believe in that model. The free Explorer tier is real education, not a trick to upsell you. Some people stay on Explorer forever, learn what they need, and never pay us a dollar. That's fine. The paid tiers exist for people who want the full structured curriculum, the tools, and the community — not because we're holding the basics hostage.
